I can't remember how these cookies came to be. A wonderful woman from my office at the time (who despite all odds is still a loyal client, hooray!) had ordered them for a bridal shower. But I don't recall how the conversation about cookies even started. Had I decorated sugar cookies before and have subsequently blocked the memory? Was I so confident in my artistic skills that I blindly accepted a random challenge? I have no idea.
In any case, these turned out sort of ok. The flooding was uneven, I think I used a #2 tip for the piping when I should have used a #1, and I had clearly never heard of or seen the brush embroidery technique.
Whatever the story, these were the first sugar cookies of many, and I love them. Or, I like them a reasonable amount. That is to say...I'm glad I improved.
